W3 Full Professor (f/m/d) in Power Electronics and Electrical Drive Systems
The faculty is seeking a highly qualified candidate with scientific expertise proven by peerreviewed publications who can fully represent the respective field in teaching and research and has demonstrated particular scientific competence in one or several of the following subject areas:
- Integration of power electronics and electrical drives into mechatronic, energy, or electro-mobile applications
- Embedded digital control
- Applications of new technologies e.g. novel wide bandgap power electronic semiconductor technologies (SiC, GaN)
Experience in a respective executive position is desired, while professional experience in industry and successful third-party funding are advantageous. A key criterion is an optimal fit to current and future research activities of Paderborn University, especially in those areas defining the university's profile. The successful candidate is expected to actively participate in the research networks of the university, particularly in the interdisciplinary Centre for Sustainable Energy Technology (KET) as well as to cooperate with other groups and associated institutes.
Moreover, the ability and motivation to offer programs and courses in German and English for Bachelor's and Master's degree programs of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science as well as to participate in the academic self-administration are prerequisites.
Hiring requirements: § 36 Abs. 1 Ziff. 1-4 HG NRW “University law of the State of NRW” (completed university degree, pedagogical aptitude, Ph.D. degree and additional research achievements).
