Aalen University is looking to appoint to the following position for its Biopharmaceutical Sciences degree programme within the Faculty of Chemistry as soon as possible:
W2 Professorship in Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacy
Your duties:
- Teaching all the foundation subjects in pharmacy that are included in the Biopharmaceutical Sciences degree programme
- Continuing to develop the content and concepts making up the Biopharmaceutical Sciences degree programme
- Collaborating across discipline boundaries with researchers in (bio-)analytical and bio-organic chemistry and developing an application-oriented approach to research
Your profile:
- You will have a pharmacy degree
- You will have an in-depth knowledge of the development of drugs and active ingredients and especially of biopharmaceuticals, their manufacture and their licensing
- Experience in devising analytical methods such as drug monitoring would be an advantage
- An academic background, demonstrated by a number of independently reviewed publications, is desirable
You will need to meet the following criteria in order to be considered (see e.g. Section 47 of the Universities Act of the State of Baden-Württemberg):
- You will have a particular aptitude for academic work, which will generally be demonstrated by a doctorate
- You will have several (at least three) years' professional and managerial experience in the pharmaceutical industry or in a clinical/pharmaceutical setting, e.g. in a (hospital) pharmacy
- You will possess excellent analytical skills and a flair for organisation, displaying a highly practical mindset
- You will demonstrate a strong aptitude for teaching in theory and practice (especially in using new media for learning)
- You will be proficient in written and spoken English and be willing to teach courses in English
- You will be willing to teach courses on other degree programmes and in other fields of study, especially in foundation subjects
- You will be passionate about sharing your expertise
Provided that the criteria under civil-service law are met, the successful candidate will initially be employed as a civil servant on a probationary basis when they are first appointed. Should they demonstrate an aptitude for the role, they will then be admitted to the civil service for life. As an alternative, the post holder may sign a fixed-term contract as an employee rather than a civil servant.
