At the Department of Psychology at Philipps-University Marburg, a
Professorship (W3) for Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy
will be available from Oct 01, 2024. The appointee should represent the subject of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy in research and teaching in its full breadth in the Bachelor's program in Psychology and in the Master's program "Psychology: Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy", a regulated study program preparing for a federal examination to receive a license in psychotherapy. In addition, the professorship should collaborate in the multisite LOEWE Center DYNAMIC in developing a new understanding of mental disorders based on dynamic network models. The LOEWE Center collaborates with clinical psychology, psychiatry, AI, as well as associated areas of psychology and neuroscience from the universities in Marburg, Frankfurt, Giessen, Darmstadt, and the institutes ESI and DIPF (https://www.uni-marburg.de/de/fb04/team-rief/forschung/loewe-zentrum-dynamic).
The person to be appointed should have experience in a relevant area of quantitative-empirical research, demonstrate outstanding international publication activity in scientific journals, and have experience in successfully acquiring third-party funds. Leadership skills for the associated clinical institutions should be present (university outpatient clinic for psychological treatments in adults, postgraduate training program for psychological treatments). Teaching competencies must be demonstrated through teaching experience in a field relevant for the professorship. Language skills in German are essential for teaching.
In addition to representing the subject and a special commitment to DYNAMIC, a willingness to cooperate interdisciplinarily, especially at the department and with other research initiatives, is expected. License as a (psychological) psychotherapist is required or must be close to completion (for foreign qualifications, a comparable and recognizable qualification must be available). The executive management and further development of the university outpatient clinic and the postgraduate training program (focus on CBT for adults) is expected. Orientation to-wards Open Science principles, evidenced by appropriate documentation in the application documents, is expected.
The hiring requirements of §§ 67 and 68 HHG apply. In addition, habilitation (German qualification for teaching on a professorship level) or equivalent achievements with a focus on Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy are required. Philipps-University puts great importance on in-tensive supervision of students and doctoral candidates, and expects a presence from its teachers at the university.
