Scope of duties:
The Department of Business Administration and Economics is interested in further developing and refining its teaching and research focus on smart economy. In this process, it is intended to intensify the interdisciplinary integration of psychology with special emphasis on economics and engineering. We are looking for outstanding personalities who will be committed to teaching Business Psychology and advancing our research program in the areas of digital and sustainable management and economics.
Candidates are expected to teach courses related to the area of specialisation primarily in our bachelor study program in Business Psychology. This includes introductory level courses in basic psychology and methods (e. g., “Social Psychology” and “Statistics”) as well as courses in applied psychology (e. g., “Consumer Psychology”), and to develop innovative and interdisciplinary projects in cooperation with scientific and social institutions. These projects ideally promote collaboration between different university departments. The successful candidate will mostly teach courses in German but also in English. Applicants are committed to pursuing an active research program in the area of specialisation, and to seeking third-party funding to establish or advance research projects in cooperation with partners from business, civil society and politics as well as other research institutions. Responsibilities also include memberships in faculty and institutional committees.
OWL University of Applied Sciences and Arts is committed to a policy of intense personal mentoring for students and therefore expects a strong presence of teaching staff at the university. Up to 25 % of the teaching responsibility can be implemented online, if the digital format is appropriate to achieve the learning objectives.
Qualification:
Candidates must have a university degree in Psychology or Business Psychology and a completed doctorate degree in Business Psychology, ideally in the area of specialisation or in the context of smart
economy. We are seeking candidates with statistical training and very good quantitative skills. The ideal candidate will have gained considerable professional experience in one or more of the following
areas: Digitalization, consumer and user research, service management or team and organizational development with an outstanding record of conducting research in these areas.
