The Institute of Technology and Testing of Construction Materials is offering two positions as research scientist (4 years contract, 40 hours/week full time) with the possibility of obtaining a doctorate (PhD)in the field of concrete technology or on the other hand of non-destructive testing and instrumented monitoring technologies.
The activity of our institute comprises research and teaching of construction materials and materials testing. Research priorities are mineral construction materials, sustainable materials and buildings as well as non-destructive testing and instrumented monitoring of buildings and structures (www.tvfa.tugraz.at).
University Project Assistant (PhD student)
Completed Masterâ€™s or Diploma studies with special focus in the field of civil engineering, engineering science, material science or similar
Interest in concrete technology and in the design and testing of mineral building materials and/or in the field of measurement technology and wireless sensor networks
Social and communicative competence
Interest in scientific work and publications
Good IT skills
The positions are associated with
Participation in research projects
Co-work in teaching
Theoretical and experimental material development (cementitious materials): Development of cementitious materials with focus on processibility/strength/durability/ sustainability including testing and analysis of materials properties and/or
Development of non-destructive test methods for material characterization and building constructions as well as methods for instrumented monitoring with wireless sensor networks including data analysis
Possibility for a doctoral study (PhD)
Classification B1 according to the Austrian collective agreement for university employees; with a minimum rate of currently â‚¬ 2.794,60 gross (14 times a year, full-time). Depending on relevant work experience of the applicant, the salary might be increased.
