University Professor – salary grade W3

Working field: Key competence of the position in teaching and research is architectural design, specifically addressing design methods with respect to building construction as well as with respect to disciplinary and interdisciplinary development and communication. An emphasis lies in the systematization of existing design methods and the research and development of innovative design-based methods and strategies that can be applied in the building industry and in applied and fundamental research. Successful applicants are expected to contribute actively to the development of the key research areas of TU Berlin and to participate in the faculty‘s teaching curriculum.
Requirements: We are looking for a scientist (f/m), who as an architect can prove qualified achievement in architectural design and building construction, in the application and development of design methods and/or distinguished realized projects and buildings in this specific field. The capability of interdisciplinary teamwork and the willingness for participation in the academic self-government is expected.
Applicants must qualify for appointment according to the requirements of §100 of the Berlin Act on Higher Education (BerlHG); these entail a completed university degree in architecture, as well as pedagogic-didactic experience and suitability proved by a teaching portfolio (you can obtain more detailed information concerning this on the TUB homepage, direct access 144242).
Applicants must be able to conduct teaching in German and English. The requisite language skills were determined by the Academic Senate in its decision on language policy of 16.05.2018. The taking over of responsibility for the leadership and direction of a specialist area and its employees* as well as the ability to promote young talent is expected. Competences with regard to equality, the advancement of women and gender & diversity are desirable.
