University Professor (Salary Scale W3 NBesO) “Electrical Energy Storage Technologies” (m/f/d)
At the Institute of Electrical Power Engineering and Energy Systems as soon as possible. The candidate should have outstanding scientific and educational qualifications and is set to represent the topic Electrical energy storage technologies in research and education. We seek applications from candidates that are widely recognized in electrical energy storage technologies.
Clausthal University of Technology works on an interdisciplinary basis on systemic approaches towards a circular economy. The research field "Sustainable Energy Systems" addresses the security of tomorrow's sustainable energy supply, with questions about materials processes and technology for energy storage playing a central role. The professorship for Electrical Energy Storage Technologies should make an important contribution to sharpening this profile.
The professorship involves the management of the institute and will be responsible for the organization and further development of the teaching and research portfolio. Active collaboration in the research field "Sustainable Energy Systems" of the TU Clausthal is expected and the participation in other research fields of the university is desired. The position also includes close cooperation with the Energy Research Centre of Lower Saxony (EFZN), the research center Energiespeichertechnologien (EST) and the CUTEC Institute at TU Clausthal. This requires the active cooperation with neighboring departments at TU Clausthal as well as with partners in Germany and abroad.
Teaching includes the lecturing of fundamental Electrical Engineering as well as lectures on advanced methods of electrical energy systems, in particular electrical energy storage technologies, in German and English for various BSc and MSc programs at TU Clausthal. Strong commitment to teaching is expected. Proven didactic competences are required.
Experience in the acquisition of third-party funded projects or corresponding industrial experience is expected.

The requirements of the position are defined in Section 25 of the Niedersachsen Higher Education Act (Niedersächsisches Hochschulgesetz NHG). In addition to an university degree in the fields of engineering or natural sciences, an excellent doctorate as well as a habilitation or comparable achievements are required.
Applicants who are 50 years or older at the time of appointment and who do not hold already a permanent civil servant status (Beamtenverhältnis auf Lebenszeit) will be employed with employee status (Angestelltenverhältnis).
