Tenured Professorship in Pharmacology and Toxicology

The successful applicant will cover the area named above in research and teaching.
Appointment requirements are governed by Article 100 of the Berlin Higher Education Act
We are looking for a candidate with an excellent scientific reputation and a research focus
on experimental pharmacology of chemically synthesised or biogenic drug and active
substances. A strong molecular-mechanistic research strategy based on personal
methodological competence should be central to the research. Successful candidates will
have a pharmaceutical-/natural science-based qualification and several years of experience
in teaching and examination in the discipline Pharmacology/Toxicology according to the
'Approbationsordnung für Apotheker’. Additionally, applicants should have the ability to
teach seminars in German and have experience in acquiring funding for and carrying out
third party funded research consortia and industry collaborations.
Apart from the official duties that the appointee has to fulfil in accordance with Article 99 of
the Berlin Higher Education Act in particular, the following activities need to be fulfilled in
The appointee will develop a promising pharmacy focused research program appealing to
third party funding with a high international recognition.
We expect a commitment for research collaboration with established local research groups
and initiation of future collaborations. The appointee is expected to engage in teaching
responsibilities, primarily in German, at the Institute in particular with Clinical Pharmacy, as
well as in collaboration within consortia at the Department BCP and the Charité
