Tenure Track Assistant Professor
» Topology «

to begin as soon as possible. The position is a W2 fixed-term position (6 years) with tenure track option to a tenured W3 position (Associate Professor). The professorship is funded by the Federal Tenure Track Programme.

Scientific environment
The professorship is part of the TUM Department of Mathematics. Together with the science campus Garching the Department of Mathematics provides a stimulating research environment including several research groups ranging from abstract to computational Algebra and Geometry.

Responsibilities
The responsibilities include research and teaching as well as the promotion of early-career scientists. We seek to appoint an expert in the field of Topology. The teaching responsibilities include courses in the subject area, the basic courses offered by the department as well as courses for other academic TUM departments.

Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate who has demonstrated initial scientific achievements and the capacity for independent research at the highest international standards. A university degree and an outstanding doctoral degree or equivalent scientific qualification as well as pedagogical aptitude, including the ability to teach in English, are also prerequisites. Substantial research experience abroad is expected.
