Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbHJülich
As a member of the Helmholtz Association, Forschungszentrum Jülich makes an effective contribution to solving major challenges
facing society in the fields of information, energy, and bioeconomy. It focuses on varied tasks in the area of research management and
utilizes large, often unique, scientific infrastructure. Come and work with around 5,900 colleagues across a range of topics and disciplines
at one of Europe’s largest research centres.
The Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC) operates one of the most powerful supercomputing infrastructures in Europe and makes it available to
researchers at Forschungszentrum Jülich, in Germany and throughout Europe. As part of this task JSC conducts various types of Research and
Development, often in close collaboration with local, national and international partner institutions. One of these areas of research is energy
systems modelling, an area in which JSC provides its expertise in order to enable and optimise the use of High-Performance Computing architectures.
Together with researcher from the field of energy systems modelling, applications and algorithms are analysed, adapted, developed and optimized,
which can then make proper use of parallel computing architectures of modern hardware. The aim is to speed up significantly the time-to-solution
as well as the model complexity which can be treated.
