Perception and Action in Virtual Reality, invites applications for a
full-time position for a
Researcher
The position is available as of now until 36 months. The salary of the position is determined by payment group E 13 according to the collective labor agreement of the State of Hessen (TV-H).
The successful candidate will join the groups of Katja Fiehler and Karl Gegenfurtner. We are part of a larger research consortium on perception and action with excellent links to
scientists within Europe and worldwide (

multi-national and multi-disciplinary research environment for young scientists

The city of Giessen is a small university town with a vibrant young population, located just 60 km north of Frankfurt. It is in an excellent location for getting to know the rest of Europe.
Job specification:
We are looking for an experienced researcher to join our interdisciplinary team to take care of the maintenance of our technical equipment, our software and our departmental network.
The candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of topics in visual perception, predictive behavior and sensorimotor control, for example color constancy or spatial remapping.
Our Virtual Reality lab offers excellent facilities and is well equipped with calibrated color displays, eye, hand, and body motion tracking devices as well as equipment measuring physiological
parameters (e.g. EEG, skin conductance, electromyographic activity) in combination with stereoscopic displays.
Job requirements:
Ideally the successful candidate will have a strong background in virtual reality and in human psychophysics or sensorimotor control. Candidates should have demonstrable experience in VR programming
(e.g., Unity, Vizard, Unreal Engine) and 3D rendering software. Knowledge in eye and body movement tracking is of advantage. A Master's degree in Experimental Psychology or a related field (computer
science, neuroscience, biology) is required.
