WIAS invites applications for a

Research Assistant Position
(Ref. 18/02)

in the Research Group

"Numerical Mathematics and Scientific Computing"

(Head: Prof. Dr. V. John) starting at the earliest possible date (Ref. 18/02).

The applicant is expected to perform active research in the development, mathematical analysis or implementation of numerical methods for flow and transport problems. Interest in applications is welcome.

The applicant should possess substantial knowledge in the theory and implementation of finite element methods. A university diploma or master degree in mathematics or a closely related discipline as well as a PhD degree are required.

The appointment is limited for three years. The work schedule is 39 hours per week, and the salary is according to the German public service tariff scale.
