Research Assistant in the Area of Marketing (f/m)
European University Viadrina
The Chair of Marketing at the Faculty of Business Administration and
Economics of the European University Viadrina invites applications for a
Research Assistant in the Area of Marketing
(part time 75 %, salary group 13 TV-L)
starting October 1st, 2018. The appointment is fixed-term and ends after three years.
The research assistant is expected to contribute to research, to teaching, and to administration of the
chair. The research assistant is further expected to write a doctoral thesis dealing with a topic in the
research area of the chair and to join the PhD program of the faculty. To that end, the research assistant
can use 40 percent of the contracted hours for academic qualification.
The ideal candidate
has a MSc degree (or equivalent) in business or related areas with a specialization in marketing or
communication, and to have achieved a very good final grade point average;
has a pronounced interest in research in the area of marketing communication and consumer
behavior, that combines theoretical approaches with empirical research (quantitative);
has substantial knowledge of various research methods, statistical procedures, and software
packages applied in marketing research studies;
is able to work independently, to show high job engagement and commitment, to be proactive,
responsible, and reliable.
German language proficiency is not required, however, we expect the successful candidate to be able to
participate in meetings held in German within one year after appointment. The university‘s language
center offers German language courses.
