The newly founded Faculty of Life Sciences: Food, Nutrition & Health on the University of Bayreuth's Kulmbach Campus is currently seeking to appoint a
Professor of Nutritional Biochemistry (full professorship)
at pay grade W 3 (minimum salary per month: 6,683 euros) to commence as soon as possible. This is a permanent civil service position.
We invite scholars who are highly qualified in research and teaching to apply. The successful candidate will carry out internationally competitive biochemical
research driven by important nutritional questions. In cooperation with other research groups in the faculty (e.g. Food Metabolome, Nutrition Physiology), he
or she will contribute to gaining mechanistic insights into the relationship between nutrition and health.
Active participation in the development of the new Faculty of Life Sciences: Food, Nutrition & Health is expected. This also includes the conception and
establishment of new scientific and interdisciplinary B.Sc. / M.Sc. programmes such as the M.Sc. "Food Quality and Safety". The aim is to recruit an academic
who offers links to the faculty's economic, legal or social science research groups in the fields of food quality and safety or public health thanks to his or
her research orientation. An affiliation with the Faculty of Biology, Chemistry & Earth Sciences of the University of Bayreuth is also possible.
The ability to teach in English is required as a large number of the faculty's courses will be offered in English. International applicants must be ready and willing to teach in German within three years.
