The Faculty of Education at the Goethe University Frankfurt/Main,
Germany, invites applications for the following full-time tenured
Professorship (W3) of Education, Area of Specialization:
School and Youth/Adolescence
The successful applicant is expected to research and teach in the
field of educational studies. The area of specialization includes
adolescent educational processes and socialization in school contexts
as well as school organizational changes due to societal challenges.
Applicants are expected to pursue research in areas such
as the importance of adolescent living contexts for instruction and
teaching, peer culture in schools, as well as the relations between
social inequality and curriculum resp. school development. These
topics should be treated within the context of the changing personal
and societal conditions of adolescence. The successful candidate
is expected to carry out empirical research projects and to
participate in disciplinary and interdisciplinary research initiatives.
Teaching is equally focused on the teacher education programs at
various levels (primary and secondary school, special education)
and the BA/MA education program. The successful candidate’s
teaching is expected to treat the conditions of adolescent development
both inside and outside of school, educational theory, and its
connection to instruction and school development.
Since the professorship involves teacher training, particular experience
and expertise are expected in this area as well as participation
in interdisciplinary initiatives on empirical educational research.
The designated salary for the position is based on "W3" on the
German university scale or equivalent. Goethe University is an
