The Medical Faculty, Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry/ Psychotherapy (Medical Director: Prof. Dr. J. M. Fegert), is seeking to fill the position, starting as soon as possible, of
Professor (W3) of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and/or Psychotherapy with a Focus on Trauma and Emergency Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and/or Psychotherapy (f/m/d)
The call for applications is aimed at nationally and internationally visible psychologists licensed as a psychological psychotherapist or child and youth psychotherapist and medical doctors. Prerequisites for the appointment are the habilitation or an equivalent academic achievement in the field of psychology or medicine. The applicant will represent the specialty of child and adolescent psychiatry and/or psychotherapy in research, medical education and treatment with a special focus on trauma and emergency child and adolescent psychiatry and/or psychotherapy. A new post of a full professor, established by the ministry for science, research and art, Baden-Württemberg in the context of the structural funding of the center of trauma research of the University of Ulm, strengthens existing clinical and research foci of the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry/Psychotherapy and the Medical Faculty while promoting interdisciplinary networking within the trauma center and in national and international research alliances and committees.
Experience in trauma treatment and development of therapies for sequelae, especially adverse (early) childhood experience, is desirable.
Teaching obligations concern the complete field of child and adolescent psychiatry and psychotherapy with a special focus on ACE and groups at high risk for traumatization and resulting mental disorders in childhood and adolescence.
The department has a focus on the dissemination of specialist knowledge; therefore the readiness to develop innovative forms of teaching such as e-learning is expected.
Employment requirements are completed university studies as well as teaching aptitude, a doctoral degree and further pertinent scientific achievements (§ 47 LHG) and for medical doctors a medical specialist certification (in Child and adolescent psychiatry and psychotherapy).
