University Professor – salary grade W3
in the field of "power trains" as permanent professorship.
Reference number: V-850/19 (starting at the earliest possible / permanent / closing date for applications 24/01/20)
Working field: Teaching and research in the field of power trains, contributing to teaching in transport engineering, mechanical engineering, and other engineering programs.
Areas of interest are:
development, research, and modeling of future power trains for various classes of vehicles for land and water transport
systems approach for various types of power trains, e.g. hybrid electric, using synthetic fuels, or using hydrogen
measurements on power trains in the laboratory as well as in real operations, with the objective of reducing negative environmental impacts (carbon footprint, particulate matter, gaseous pollutants, acoustic emissions)
economic and ecological assessment of power train concepts over the whole life cycle
Both for teaching and for research a systemic approach is expected, which links the relevant aspects of energy and drive systems technology, thermodynamics, mechanics, fluid dynamics, chemistry, electrification, etc.
fulfillment of the requirements for appointment at the professorial level in compliance with § 100 BerlHG (Berliner Hochschulgesetz)
completed academic education in a relevant area of engineering or natural sciences, e.g. in vehicle engineering or mechanical engineering
qualified achievements in research (PhD)
postdoctoral lecture qualification (Habilitation) or equivalent qualification (e.g. documented by the quality of scientific papers beyond the doctorate, or by patents)
pedagogical-didactic qualifications, documented through a teaching portfolio (see TUB homepage direct access 144242)
detailed knowledge in the area of power trains
preferable: industry experience with leadership functions
extensive contact network in the vehicle industry
willingness to cooperate in interdisciplinary projects
