The Faculty of Catholic Theology (Fachbereich Katholische Theologie)
of the Goethe University of Frankfurt invites applications for the
following full time position as civil servant or public employee:
Professorship (W3) in Religious Education
and Media Didactics
We are welcoming applications from scholars with special
competences in the field of Religious Education and of Media
Didactics. The qualified candidate will be able to teach and to
conduct research in both areas. Qualified candidates will have a Ph.D.
in Catholic Theology and a postdoctoral lecture qualification.
Expected qualifications are habilitation or equivalent publications.
Required is teaching practice and experience in other practical fields.
Because the professorship is involved in teacher training, candidates
are required to have specific experience in this area and should be
willing to participate in interdisciplinary initiatives in the field of
empirical educational research. Candidates are expected to have
three years of practical school-related experience and should be
willing to supervise school internships.
The applicant shall participate in all courses of studies offered by
the department of Catholic Theology. This contains teaching degree
courses as well as BA courses of Catholic Theology and the MA course
"Religious Communication: Intercultural and Media Perspectives"
The successful candidate will also be involved in teachertraining.
Experience in teaching at school and novel ideas regarding
the further development of teacher training considering didactic
matters of interdenominational learning and conclusion are expected.
The candidate will be involved in the core curriculum and common
research focus on "Theologie interkulturell" (intercultural theology)
of the department.
The designated salary for the position is based on the German
university pay scale or equivalent. Goethe University is committed
