The Faculty of Social Sciences of Johann Wolfgang Goethe University Frankfurt am Main invites applications for the following position as civil servant or public employee starting at the earliest possible date:

Professorship (W3)
for Sociology with a Special Focus on Culture and Migration

The successful candidate will have a strong reputation based on research and teaching in migration studies within a tradition of cultural sociology and with a special emphasis on intersectionality and/or postcolonial studies as documented by internationally visible research and publications. She or he will also have a track record in securing and implementing externally funded projects.

Teaching commitment at the Bachelors and Masters level in all the Faculty's degree programmes is expected. The professorship is also involved in teacher training; experience and concepts for teaching subject-specific content in schools are welcome. Furthermore, a willingness to collaborate with the Cornelia Goethe Centrum is desired. Successful candidates will be required to participate in the academic self-administration.

The designated salary for the position is based on "W3" on the German university scale or equivalent, including performance bonuses that are subject of negotiation.
