Full Professorship (W3) for
Pharmacology and Toxicology
(Succession of Prof. Dr. Dr. Klaus Aktories)

in the Institute of Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology to be filled by October 1st 2018.

The future holder of the position will represent the field in research and teaching. She/he is in charge of the Division I of the Institute. We search for a candidate with excellent national and international reputation, who will support and further strengthen research topics in the Institute and key research areas of the Medical Faculty, including epigenetics and functional genetics, molecular cell research and regenerative medicine, immunology and infectiology, neurosciences, oncology and functional imaging. Both departments at the institute will jointly perform the teaching required for human medicine, dentistry, molecular medicine, pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences and nursing sciences. Applicants should have a proven record in teaching all fields of pharmacology and toxicology.

This professorship is expected to strengthen the excellence strategy in the area biological signaling research.

Prerequisites for the employment of Professors are a university degree in medical studies or biomedical sciences, an outstanding dissertation and an excellent publication record and a board certification in pharmacology and toxicology or similar qualification. Substantial achievements and experience in academic research and teaching, at the level of a Habilitation according to the German academic system, are expected.

The position is a tenured according to § 50 para. 1 Landeshochschulgesetz (LHG) Baden-Württemberg.
