The School of Medicine and Health Sciences of the Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg seeks applications for a
for Pharmacology and Toxicology
commencing as soon as possible.
We look for an internationally renowned specialist in pharmacology and toxicology. An outstanding profile in research,
teaching, publications and acquisition of third-party funds as well as leadership and management competences and profound
experience in diverse topics of pharmacology and toxicology are required.
The appointed professor is expected to contribute actively to building up the School of Medicine and Health Sciences and to
develop new research foci in a tight research network with the departments of fundamental and translational research in
Oldenburg and Groningen. Besides establishing new research topics, it is desired to cooperate with the existing research collaborations
at the University’s medical and natural science schools. Furthermore, the tight cooperation with the corresponding clinical
departments of the hospitals of the Medical Campus of Oldenburg University is expected.
The successful candidate is expected to cover the complete field of teaching in pharmacology and toxicology. Furthermore, a participation
regarding the development and implementation of new study programs in the field of health sciences is desired. He or she will be engaged
in advancing the innovative teaching program as part of the integrated medical curriculum and is expected to support new concepts in teaching and learning.
Preconditions for employment are specified in § 25 Niedersächsisches Hochschulgesetz (NHG). To increase the proportion
of women in science, equally qualified female candidates will be given preference. Applicants with disabilities will be
preferentially considered in case of equal qualification. The position is suitable for part-time employment.
