The professor represents the following areas in teaching and in research: navigation,
positioning, parameter estimation and signal processing. He/She will head the attached
The research portfolio covers satellite-based navigation and positioning (GNSS),
inertial navigation and inertial sensor technology, as well as integrated navigation. The
candidate may furthermore specialize in innovative research areas such as multisensor
navigation and indoor navigation. Moreover, aerospace applications of navigation are
of particular interest. The successful applicant is expected to teach courses on navigation,
positioning and geodetic estimation theory.
The faculty is looking for an internationally renowned expert on the aforementioned
research areas. Leadership, excellent didactical skills and dedication to university
service are a prerequisite to the position. We expect the successful applicant to
develop a vigorous research program in cooperation with partners within faculty and
with other institutions on campus. Moreover, collaboration with academic and industrial
partners outside the University of Stuttgart is highly desirable.
