W3-Professorship for Cooperative Autonomous Systems in Real World Labs

In the Division II – Informatics, Economy, and Society – the KIT Department of Economics and Management will offer a Full Professorship (W3) for Cooperative Autonomous Systems in Real World Labs at the Institute of Applied Informatics and Formal Description Methods (AIFB).

The research focus of the professorship is on human-machine cooperation and autonomous systems in the mobility context. Particular attention should be paid to modeling, methodical and technical implementation, quality assurance procedures and real testing. We are looking for people who are experienced in the development and evaluation of cooperative and autonomous systems. This professorship is a core element of the real-world laboratory "Autonomous Driving in the Mobility System of the Future". It forms a tandem with the W3 Professorship "Real-World-Lab Research Design" at the KIT Department of Humanities and Social Sciences. Both professorships are involved in the management of the real-world laboratory.

In teaching, the professorship should contribute to the education of students of the KIT Department of Economics and Business Administration. In addition, appropriate participation in the compulsory courses in Applied Informatics in the bachelor's core modules of the interdisciplinary study programs at the KIT Department is expected. Linked to this is the willingness to learn the German language. We are looking for a personality who has outstanding scientific qualifications and an excellent international reputation. Skills in the acquisition of third-party funding and the management of scientific teams are expected, as well as very good didactic skills in both basic computer science lectures and in advanced master courses. A willingness for inter- and transdisciplinary cooperation in research and teaching is expected.
