and Information Technology of Brandenburg University of Technology
(BTU) Cottbus-Senftenberg, invites applications for a
Experimental Physics and
commencing at the earliest opportunity.
Candidates should hold an internationally recognized research record to further
strengthen the competences of the Institute of Physics of the BTU in the field of
materials research with the focus on semiconductor devices and functional materials.
The experimental research should focus on the development of novel semiconductor
materials, in particular nanoscale systems and interfaces. Besides standard methods
for the preparation of thin films, this also includes new processes for nanoscale
(surface) structuring. Possible materials and systems comprise e. g. organic
semiconductors, graphene, nanotubes, complex hybrid structures or oxide heterostructures.
Successful candidates will establish strong cooperations with other
groups inside and outside the BTU.
Responsibilities also include teaching of undergraduate and graduate classes in
experimental and applied physics, as well as appropriate participation in offering
courses for other study programs in the general field of physics.

(Higher Education Act of the State of Brandenburg - BbgHG) in
conjunction with § 3 BbgHG.

Experience in the acquisition and realization of third-party funded projects is
expected. Fields of research should be relevant for DFG (German Research
Foundation) funding. Lectures are primarily to be held in German, fluency in
English is expected.
