The post holder will, for a total of 8 semester hours per semester, be responsible for teaching the
subject of Clinical Psychology on an introductory and on a more in-depth level with application to
rehabilitation, primarily on the Master's degree course but also on the Bachelor's programme, until
30.09.2022. The post holder will have a license to practice as a psychological psychotherapist and/or
as a child and adolescent psychotherapist, ideally with a specialist certificate in behavioural therapy.
Additional qualifications in the applied subject of counselling / guidance and in client-centred
psychotherapy are desirable.
Furthermore, the post holder will be expected
- to cooperate on the inter-programme development of the range of courses available and the
execution of innovative curricular concepts and their implementation in terms of university
didactics,
- to be prepared to take an active role in academic self-governance,
- to have experience in regional and local networking. The Department has, thanks to its B.Sc. and
M.Sc. courses in Rehabilitation Psychology, an excellent network of medical and
educational/vocational rehabilitation facilities and facilities dedicated to participation in working life
and the community. These should be maintained and expanded by the post holder.
Your application should contain proof of
- a completed degree in psychology,
- at least five years of professional practice after completion of your studies (in accordance with the
provisions of the Universities Act of the state of Saxony-Anhalt (HSG LSA) in relevant fields of
(rehabilitation) psychology practice, especially in respect of clinical psychology and
psychotherapy,
- thematically relevant theoretical and empirical research and publication experience and the
readiness to critically reflect upon these are also required.
General Conditions of Employment:
The conditions of employment for professors are contained in § 35 of the Higher Education Act of
Saxony-Anhalt (HSG LSA) dated 05.05.2004 and most recently amended by the Act Amending the
Provisions of Higher Education Act dated 26.07.2010 (official gazette 19/2010).
The ability to conduct scientific work must have been demonstrated by the conferral of a doctorate.
In particular, for professors in universities of applied sciences, it is the case that in accordance with §
35 para. 2 no. 4b (HSG LSA), specific achievements in the application or development of scientific
knowledge and methods must have been demonstrated in professional practice of several years'
duration, of which at least three years must have been outside the higher education sphere.
Remuneration is in accordance with W2 of Remuneration Order W from the Act Reforming
Remuneration Law in the State of Saxony-Anhalt (BesNeuRG LSA, official gazette 04/2011) as
amended.
A commitment to technology and knowledge transfer and university self-governance is also
expected. Professors should be prepared to reside within the university's catchment area.
Subject to fulfilment of the requirements, the successful candidate would be appointed to the rank of
civil servant with limited tenure or alternatively to a limited employment relationship under private
law, in accordance with § 38 para. 1 line 9 HSG LSA until 30.09.2022.
