Frankfurt UAS launched its sustainability strategy on March 1, 2021, and is authentically spearheading its transformation process towards becoming a sustainable university. The sustainability professorship provides research support to the work of the sustainability office and collaborates on further developing the sustainability strategy. In addition, it is actively involved in building up and later in teaching the interdisciplinary, international master’s program in “European Green Studies”. The language of instruction is predominantly German.

a Professor (Salary grade W2 Hessian Salary Law (HBesG))
for the following subject area:
General Business Administration, in particular Intermodal Mobility and Sustainability Reference Number: P30/2021
beginning winter semester 2022/23
The position holder is expected to represent the subject area "General Business Administration, in particular Intermodal Mobility and Sustainability" in the context of lectures in Bachelor and Master Programs in German and English.
In addition, participation in our relevant continuing education programs (MBA Aviation and Tourism Management, certificate courses) is desired.
The fit to the research focus Mobility and Logistics, e.g. the Institute for Aviation and Tourism IAT, must be demonstrated by practical experience or scientific expertise. Affiliation with the PhD Center Mobility and Logistics should be sought.
Comprehensive practical work experience is required, which reflects economic or technical competence at the intermodal interface between all modes of transport, preferably air transport. In
particular, the future topics of sustainability and environmentally friendly passenger transport should be actively and conscientiously represented in teaching and research.
We are looking for a research-affine personality with outstanding communication skills, interdisciplinary willingness to cooperate, an above-average completed doctorate and entrepreneurial creative will, who is excellently positioned in mobility as well as sustainability.
We refer to the employment requirements according to §§ 61 und 62 of the Hessian Higher Education Act.

We expect from our professors: High presence at the institution of higher education and intensive care of our students; participation in basic training i.e. the representation of the relevant field in an introductory form in all degree courses of the faculty; qualification and aptitude to research and successful acquisition of third party funding; gender and diversity competence; participation in international activities of the institution of higher education, including teaching in the English language; participation in the interdisciplinary Studium generale; contributions to offers in continuing education, life-long learning and eLearning; taking on responsibility in the frame of academic self-administration; continuing education in the technical discipline and higher education didactics; willingness to cooperate cross-regionally with other institutions of higher education in the region; dedication and initiative in the frame of a service-oriented salary.
The hiring conditions are in accordance with §§ 61 and 62 of the Hessian Higher Education Act. This is a permanent contract. The first appointment as a professor is first as a public-service employee on probation or with an unlimited employment contract with a 3-year long probation period.
