Your tasks: You will be representing the subject area "Creative and Cultural entrepreneurship" in the fields of research and teaching at the Institut für Wissenschaftsdialog (Institute for Scientific Dialogue), particularly for the planned masters degree course in "Applied Entrepreneurship". Apart from your involvement in this masters program, you will be offering further interdisciplinary and project-oriented seminars.
You will be adding to the university’s existing business-oriented entrepreneurial structures and will contribute to an agile circulation system consisting of creative industries, design-oriented teaching, research and foundation. You will be considering yourself as an entrepreneurial interface between (creative) industries, the university, civil society and the inhabitants of the Ostwestfalen-Lippe region. You will be the contact person for potential student founders at OWL University of Applied Sciences and Arts, particularly students that are enrolled in the degree courses of architecture, interior architecture, urban planning, media production and civil engineering. You will be helping these potential student founders to connect with regional and supra-regional companies, cooperating partners and customers. You will also be working collaboratively with the University of Music Detmold.
You will be required to teach within the context of the masters program in "Applied Entrepreneurship" that is still under development and that is being taught across our different campuses. Through its strong project orientation, this masters program acts as a poster child within Germany. You will contribute to this positive reputation by developing further institutional structures at the Creative Campus Detmold. In doing so, you will come to an agreement with the existing professorship for entrepreneurship and the cognate course instructors regarding content and organization. This existing professorship is located at the Innovation Campus Lemgo and sets the entrepreneurial foundation for the degree course. You will elevate individual and project-related funding opportunities for graduates and you will accompany concrete founding projects at the Creative Campus Detmold. You will also be concerned with the cordial advancement of thee "Excellent Startup Center" at Paderborn University. and the intended Creative Institute NRW.
Furthermore, you promote innovative and interdisciplinary study and communication formats for multidisciplinary teaching and for the dialog between science and society. This may include, in particular, interdisciplinary student projects and may involve, if possible, several departments.
You identify yourself with the university's support concept, which entails a high presence of the lecturers at the university and the willingness to take over the tasks of self-administration at the university. You offer your courses in German. In addition, you are qualified to conduct courses in English.
Your profile: We are looking for an individual that is experienced with entrepreneurship tailored to creative and cultural industries. You should have an academic background in the humanities, the social sciences, the planning sciences, and the cultural sciences, as well as interdisciplinary experience in entrepreneurial thought and behaviour, community building and dealing with communication formats. You have proven skills in analysing and designing creative, social, and cultural business models and enterprise models (creating values).
You are visible to the scientific community and are collaboratively researching with German and international co-operating partners. Scientific knowledge of the respective innovation and founding techniques (such as Lean-Start-up, Design-Thinking, Sprint etc.) are presumed. Proven competencies to establish foundational ecosystems, to acquire relevant funds foundations (such as EXIST, NRW-Hochschul-Start-up, EFRE) and to coach innovation-driven start-ups or the experience of being the founder of a start-up are desirable.
