Berlin jointly invite applications for the following position commencing as
soon as possible:
Full University Professorship
for Nutritional Neurobiology
Salary group W3 BBesG, tenured

Charité and DIfE seek to fill this position with an outstanding, internationally
recognized scientist with an excellent record in the fields of the cognitive
control of eating behavior and food intake. The successful candidate
is expected to lead the Department of Nutritional Neurobiology at the DIfE
and should contribute to the research areas of "the biological basis of food
choice" and "obesity and its complications, especially type 2 diabetes". A
publication record demonstrating high-impact research and a strong funding
record are expected, as well as the initiation of externally funded research
projects. The successful candidate will be engaged in teaching activities at
the Charité (2 hours per week), supervise Bachelor, Master and Doctoral
candidates, and participate in academic selfadministration.
The candidate is expected to substantially contribute to the relevant research
consortia of the Charité (www.charite.de), the DIfE
(www.dife.de) and to the
interdisciplinary research networks/Graduate Schools, as well as to cooperate
with the clinical departments of the Charité and other institutions in Berlin and
Required qualification: as per § 100 Berlin Higher Education Act (BerlHG) junior
professorship or postdoctoral thesis (Habilitation), or equivalent scientific
achievement and teaching qualification. Completed university degree as well
as doctorate (Ph.D and/or M.D.) in medicine or natural sciences is required.
