Goethe University Frankfurt am Main invites applications for the position of
Professor (W2, tenure track) of Educational Sciences with a Focus on Media and Education
in the Institute of at the Faculty of Educational Sciences. This civil servant or public employee position will start as soon as possible.
This is a tenure-track position for an initial six-year term. If tenure is approved at the end of the term, the position will be made permanent and promotion to the rank of Distinguished Professor (W3) will be granted.
The future holder of the post has a proven track record in the field of "Educational Digital Studies". This involves empirical and systematic research on the increasing relevance of digital research on changes in learning and education as well as the ability to demonstrate focal points in the areas of current international discourses on (post-)digital learning and education in its age-specific significance, cultural transformation dynamics of digitization and its significance for the heterogeneous life situations, as well as the associated differentiation processes. ln particular the application contributes systematically and empirically to the following perspectives:
- Digitization as an expression of cultural transformation processes;
- (post-)digital learning and educational research under conditions of social heterogeneity;
- Data responsibility and subjectivity in the context of digitization research.
ln addition the willingness to cooperate and participate in current and planned research projects in the field of "Educational Digital Studies" and " lnclusion, Recognition and Justice" is expected. The future networking with the W1-professorship for educational science with a focus on digitization and schools is also expected. Your teaching portfolio includes offerings for students in the Bachelor's and Master's degree programs in Education as well as for students in all teacher education programs.
The professorship is also involved in teacher training; experience and concepts for teaching subject content in schools are welcome.
The formal hiring requirements are defined in sections 67, 68, and 70 of the Hessian Higher Education Act (Hessisches Hochschulgesetz).
