WHU invites applications for the position of

Professor of Work and Organizational Psychology
with an emphasis on Leadership (f/m/d)

located at WHU Campus Vallendar or Düsseldorf, starting April 1, 2022 or later.

Academic Environment

WHU has more than 50 faculty members in the fields of management, finance and accounting, economics, entrepreneurship and innovation, marketing and sales, and supply chain management. Research at WHU adheres to three research principles: quality, internationality, as well as practical and academic relevance. WHU faculty consistently publish their research in the most prestigious journals. The position is based in the Management Group.

Job Description

  • Teaching psychology and leadership subjects across the various WHU degree programs in English
  • Publishing high-quality research in top journals in the relevant field
  • Contributing to Executive Education development and delivery
  • Contributing to the development of the Management Group and WHU
  • Performing services for the school

Job Qualifications

  • Ph.D. or equivalent academic qualification in work or organizational psychology or social psychology
  • Record of demonstrated excellence in scholarly publications. Outstanding research record as evidenced by publications in leading academic journals, presentations at excellent conferences, and a strong research pipeline
  • A demonstrated ability of teaching at the MBA, EMBA and Executive Education level. Strong teaching record, especially in English, and a commitment to teaching excellence and innovation
  • Outstanding English communication skills
  • International experience
We welcome applicants interested in individual, interpersonal, group, or organizational phenomena at the interface of work and organizational psychology, management, and leadership from diverse theoretical perspectives. While we have a preference for scholars performing high-quality research in these same areas, we are open to reviewing applications from scholars with a wide range of interests in the broader psychology space (social psychology, evolutionary psychology, experimental psychology, cognitive psychology, economic psychology, differential psychology). We are particularly interested in individuals who demonstrate the willingness and the ability to teach leadership and psychology-oriented courses in our advanced post-graduate programs.
