PostDoc Position (w/m/d)
„Regularized hypothesis testing in statistical inverse
problems“
at the
Institute of mathematics at the Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg
The Professorship of Inverse Problems at the Chair of Scientific Computing is seeking for a
postdoctoral research fellow (f/m/d)
(Salary according to TV-L, full-time)
from 01.10.2021 at the interface of Inverse Problems and mathematical statistics. The
position is limited for two years initially with the possibility of an extension.
The aim of the project is to exploit regularized approaches to infer on properties of not
directly observable solutions in statistical inverse problems via hypothesis testing such as
the support or modes. The investigated methods will be approached both from a theoretical
as well as a simulational side, and there will be a strong link to applications in fluorescence
microscopy.
We are looking for talented, self-motivated individuals with a strong background in Inverse
Problems, mathematical statistics or a related field. Good programming skills are desirable.
The University of Würzburg is an equal opportunities employer and places particular
emphasis on fostering career opportunities for women. Qualified women are therefore
strongly encouraged to apply as they are underrepresented in this field. Disabled persons
with equivalent aptitude will be favored.
Please send your application with the usual documents (CV, transcript of records,
description of research interests, scientific references) in electronic form as a single pdf file
until July 31st, 2021 to
