Postdoc - Molecular and
The candidate will be investigating healthy and cancer cell responses and mechanisms that accompany cell irradiation, with X-ray, protons, helium, carbon and oxygen ions. The candidate will be working on engineering and validating mammalian cell lines to express or knock-down target genes. The Postdoc will analyze gene expression, run cellular assays to evaluate cell viability, cytotoxicity, apoptosis and DNA double-strand break using histone gH2AX (or other methods) post irradiation. The candidate will be involved in designing and executing experiments, analyzing and interpreting data, and presenting results.
PhD in molecular / cellular biology, biochemistry or related fields with experience in mammalian cell cultures
Experience in evaluating cell viability, cytotoxicity, and apoptosis using FACS and confocal microscopy, and gene/protein expression by RT-qPCR and western blot analysis is preferred
Experience in knocking-down genes of interest and characterization of the engineered cell lines is requested
The position is limited to 2 years.
