as soon as possible searched for the Institute of Pathology at the University Hospital Heidelberg to work at the Center for Molecular Pathology in the group of Medical Bioinformatics.
The position is limited to 2 years. Continued employment is intended.
Salary: Salary according to (TV-L) conditions.
The Medical Bioinformatics group works closely together with the Center for Molecular Pathology (MPZ) Heidelberg, one of the leading centers for molecular diagnostics in Europe. We work with cutting-edge technologies and state-of-the-art infrastructure and offer access to international research networks. The preferred candidate will work in an interdisciplinary and highly motivated team. We are looking for a motivated candidate to work within research projects on prostate carcinoma.
Tasks and responsibilities
Generation and statistical analysis of molecular-oncological data
Integration of molecular high-throughput, clinical and histomorphological data
Implementation of workflows for the analysis of NGS data
Support of administration and expansion of the MPZ IT infrastructure
Contribution to paper writing
Optional: academic advancement (habilitation)
PhD in Bioinformatics or a related science (Informatics, Mathematics, Physics...)
Proficiency in the analysis of NGS and other molecular high-throughput data
Excellent programming skills in at least one programming language, preferably in R
Experiences with artificial intelligence and image analysis are an advantage
Structured, abstracted and analytical thinking skills
Proficiency in English speaking and writing, German language skills are an advantage
Ability to work independently as well as in a multidisciplinary team
