The University of Klagenfurt invites applications for the position of a
Postdoc Assistant (f/m), non-tenure track
at the Faculty of Economics, Department of Economics, Chair of Microeconomics (Prof. Schweinzer,www.aau.at/volkswirtschaftslehre/team/schweinzer-paul/).
This is a full-time position for a period of 6 years (40 hours per week based on Uni-KV B1 lit.b.;
The minimum monthly gross salary is € 3.803,90 (14 times per year) and can increase to € 4,214.50 (B1 lit.c.) maximum in accordance with the provisions of the collective
agreement in the case of consideration of previous occupational experience. This six-year fixed-term employment contract is anticipated to commence in December 2019 (but this is negotiable).
Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt (AAU) aims to create an environment that young researchers will find beneficial and conducive to their research. Support is available through the

Duties and Responsibilities:
Contribution to the main research area of Microeconomics with a focus on game theory, contract theory and/or mechanism design theory;
Independent teaching at the university as well as supervision of students' works (per agreement 2-6 hrs teaching per week);
Independent research and publication (the position comes with substantial travel funding);
Contribution to the departmental research, teaching and administration;
Organization and acquisition of funded projects as well as participation in departmental research projects;
Substantive and organizational participation in workshops, conferences and other events;
Participation in the management and development of the department as well as its international networks.
Completed doctoral degree in Economics or related subjects (Mathematics, Operations Research etc.) at a domestic or foreign higher education institution;
Excellent knowledge in Microeconomics, especially in game theory, contract theory and/or mechanism design theory;
Proficiency in English as well as willingness and ability to teach in German (from Oct 2020);
Demonstrated ability to conduct high quality autonomous scientific research.
Candidates must meet the required qualifications by September 25, 2019 at the latest.
Specialization in the field of game theory, contract theory or mechanism design theory;
High quality peer-reviewed publications;
Good teaching skills and/or experience in teaching at tertiary level;
Experience of working abroad;
Social competence and ability to work in a team;
Willingness to participate in the research activities of the chair;
Willingness to participate in shaping the profile of the chair.
