In the field of 3D printing technologies (method development) for 4D multimaterial printing
The Leibniz Institute of Polymer Research Dresden (IPF) is one of the largest polymer research
facilities in Germany. As an institute of the Leibniz Association, the IPF is committed to carrying
out application-oriented basic research and receives its base funding in equal parts from the
federal and state governments.
In our research group, we develop (hydrogel-based) polymer materials via innovative processing
technologies, for instance 3D printing based on microstereolithography, with specialized applications
in engineering, biotechnology, and material science. More detailed information can be found on

The advertised position is embedded within the project "3D printing of particulate formulations"
founded by the VolkswagenStiftung. The key objective is to engineer an experimental 3D-printing
platform for processing particulate formulations. The position is strongly devoted towards design
and micro engineering and construction as well as testing different polymer based particulate
A promising candidate possesses a Ph. D. degree in engineering science, material science,
chemistry or similar and is highly interested in the field of 3D printing technologies and new
material development. Sound knowledge in computer-aided design (CAD, e.g., AutoCAD®,
Autodesk Inventor®) and design engineering is expected as well as excellent communication skills
in English. Basic knowledge in simulation of fluid and particle flow (e.g., COMSOL) and device
control via LabVIEW is a plus. Your result-oriented, structured way of working and the interest in
developing new ideas complete your profile.
