The Mueller-Planitz group at the Technische Universität Dresden is looking for an ambitious, highly motivated and science-driven
PhD student or Postdoc in Chromatin Biology (f/m/x)(Molecular Biology & Genomics)
This full-time position is limited. The salary is according to the public sector scale (E13, 100 % TV-L).
The Mueller-Planitz group specializes in chromatin biology und epigenetics and combines NGS, mass spectrometry, protein biochemistry and biophysics. Please see digs-bb.de/mueller-planitz for more details. The group is located at the Institute for Physiological Chemistry of the Faculty of Medicine Carl Gustav Carus. The Institute offers an international work environment, excellent research infrastructure and is part of a vibrant biomedicine Campus.
In the project we plan to dissect the changes that occur in chromatin during cellular senescence. We use genetic techniques and long-read single-molecule DNA sequencing technology (Nanopore and PacBio). Besides research, the position may involve teaching of biochemistry to students of medicine; the teaching language is German.
You are (almost) finished with your M.Sc. or PhD in biochemistry or a related discipline and are looking for opportunities to continue with your scientific career with enthusiasm and ambition.
In case you have earned your PhD already, your work is or will soon be published.
You have gained experience in genomic techniques and their bioinformatic analyses, you are enjoy programming in R.
You are a great team worker and you can effectively communicate in English. Knowledge of German is a plus.
Prior experience with chromatin and nucleosome research, yeast genetics, FACS and MACS is a plus.
You enjoy studying fundamental questions in biology. You can work independently and diligently and enjoy innovation.
