PhD student on "Transcriptomics for the selection and validation of gene-expression markers for stress tolerance in tomato" (f/m/d)
Leibniz-Institute of Vegetable and Ornamental Crops
The Leibniz-Institute of Vegetable and Ornamental Crops (IGZ) aims for excellence in horticultural research and related plant, environmental, nutritional and social sciences. IGZ is based in Großbeeren close to Berlin and is a member of the Leibniz Association (WGL). IGZ conducts strategic and international research for the sustainable production and use of vegetables, contributing to food security, human well-being and the conservation of natural resources. At IGZ, researchers from different disciplines work together on core-funded and grant-funded projects, in collaboration with national and international research partners.
The project VEG_ADAPT (funded in Germany by BMBF) is a collaborative research effort between 13 partners from eight different European countries to devise novel strategies for the generation of climate resilient horticultural plants. At IGZ, we seek to unravel the biological mechanisms of stress tolerance in selected tomato genotypes and their grafts using a multi-omics approach. In order to make a strong contribution to the joint project, we are looking for a enthusiastic and ambitious student:
