Duties and Responsibilities:
The position is embedded in the DFG research consortium SFB/Transregio 166 “High-end light microscopy elucidates
membrane receptor function – ReceptorLight”, Jena-Würzburg. This consortium brings together highly experienced
scientists from the field of receptor research to apply and further develope high-end light microscopy techniques to study
membrane receptor function. In the context of this project, nicotinic acetylcholine receptors will be studied. Novel
fluorescent agonists and antagonists will be synthesized to be employed in confocal patch- clamp fluorometry, a
technique combining optical and electrophysiological approaches.
Applicants should hold a Master or Diploma degree in a natural-scientific field (e.g. Biophysics, Biochemistry, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Pharmacology).
Salary: according to TV-L Working hours: 26 hours/week Start: 01.04.2018 Term of employment: initially for two years, the position is intended for a doctorate
