The Faculty of Sociology currently invites applications for a
Junior Professorship in the sociology of conflict/conflict theories (W1)
The successful applicant will be teaching in all programmes of the faculty of
Applicants must have qualifications in empirical micro-sociological research in the
sociology of conflict. The applicant(s) should have an internationally-oriented
research profile. Cooperation in joint research initiatives of the faculty and university,
as well as cooperation in the Institute for Interdisciplinary Research on Conflict and
Violence (IKG) is expected.
Requirements according to § 36 HG NRW are a university degree in a pertinent
subject, competence in scientific research, evidenced by the quality of the doctoral
