Junior Professor (W1)
in Structural Integrity of Rail Vehicle
Faculty of Mechanical Engineerin
We are seeking qualified applicants for teaching and research in the area of structural integrity of rail vehicles. The starting date is the earliest possible opportunity. Particularly outstanding expertise in the following areas with respect to rail vehicle technology is expected:
- Fatigue and crash analysis
- Wheel-rail contact simulations
- Practical application of the Finite-Element- Method
- Planning and conducting of experiments

The junior professorship wil be affiliated to the Institute for Rail Vehicles and Transport Systems. The conducted research should be application-oriented as well as fundamental. Collaboration in international projects is demanded.

You should have a completed university degree and a special aptitude for scientific work which is generally verified by means of an outstanding doctorate. Ability in and commitment to teaching are essential. The application should include supporting documents regarding success in teaching. German is not necessary to begin but will be expected as a teaching language within 5 years.

Furthermore, dedication for interdisciplinary research, proven experience in the acquisition of third party research fundings and publications in national and international journals are expected. Competences in management responsibility and project management must be proven.
