W1-Junior Professorship
in "Social studies & general science
and its didactics"
The holder of this position is required to represent research and lecturing in the field of social studies
& general science and its didactics. Disciplinary and educational courses shall be provided
for primary as well as special school teacher education programs. An expandable research
profile in one of the main fields of the professorship is mandatory.
The current profile of the scientific working group "Sachunterricht" is characterised by the
processing of inclusion didactic questions as well as the close integration of disciplinary and
educational teaching.
With this call, Martin Luther University pursues the goal to give young academics with an excellent
perspective the possibility of individual and independent research at an early stage of their
career and to provide the opportunity of long-term career perspectives.
Requirements for application:
- First and preferably Second State Examination for the teaching degree for social studies &
general science, or similar degrees
- several years of practical experience in relevant working areas, preferably in school
- relevant superior graduation
- experience in academic teaching of social studies & general science
- experience in procuring third-party funds welcome
The post holder is expected to participate actively in academic committees (§34 of the
"Hochschulgesetz des Landes Sachsen-Anhalt") and to cooperate with the "Zentrum für
Lehrer*innenbildung" (ZLB) of the Martin Luther University. A willingness to work with the "Zentrum
für Schul- und Bildungsforschung" (ZSB) is requested.
First, the post of a junior professorships will be filled for a period of three years. After positive
interim evaluation, a prolongation of up to additional three years is provided. Under the prerequisite
of positive final evaluation and the existence of other relevant requirements, a permanent
employment as university professor is intended.
