Working field: The position requires research and teaching in the field of experimental and analytic investigations of coherent
structures in reacting and non-reacting turbulent flows. The areas of research expertise of the applicant should include but are not limited to
Analysis and control of coherent structures in turbulent shear flows
Linear stability analysis of turbulent reacting and non-reacting flows
Empirical mode construction of turbulent flow data
Hydrodynamic instability of swirl flames
Joint work and planning of new projects within the collaborative research center SFB1029 (Sonderforschungsbereich "TurbIn" 1029)
is desired. Teaching is required in research related courses at undergraduate and graduate level. Teaching requirements must be met in German
and English. Candidates are expected to supervise students theses on Bachelor, Master and PhD level as well as to participate in the academic
administration of the university.
Requirements: Successful applicants must fulfill the requirements for appointment at the professor level in compliance with
§ 102a BerlHG (Berlin Higher Education Act), including a completed academic education in engineering or physics, qualified achievements in
research and a particular qualification for academic work normally attested by the excellent quality of a PhD, and pedagogical didactic
qualifications, to be visualized in a teaching portfolio (for further information see TUB Website, quick access no. 144242).
Outstanding scientific credentials in the above mentioned research fields.
Excellent knowledge about laser-based measurements of reacting and non-reacting flows.
Significant expertise in linear stability analysis of turbulent shear flows.
Profound knowledge about swirl-stabilized combustion.
Scientific linkage to existing groups within the field of flow control and combustion.
Post-doctoral teaching experience
Experience in the acquisition of externally funded projects
