Junior Professorship - salary grade W1
for the field of "Distributed security infrastructures".
The junior professorship is to be funded in the context of the Einstein Center Digital Future. The professorship is offered
under the reserve that funds are granted.
IV-441/16 (starting at 01/04/17 / for a period of 3 years; an extension of 3 more years is possible
after successful evaluation / closing date for applications 13/10/16)
TU Berlin aims to strengthen the research and teaching in the area of "Distributed security infrastructures".
The focus of research is set on the development of methods and technologies for ensuring data security and data
integrity in potentially vulnerable distributed environments. The main goal is to revise the current concept of server-based
security by developing methods for security through distribution of data among many locations.
Candidates should have a profound knowledge and research experience in at least one of the following topics:
Distributed security infrastructures
Distributed data storage
Software Engineering for secure systems,
Data security concepts in connection with modern hardware architectures
Security in distributed systems
Security concepts for industrial IT systems.
Security technologies in light of human usage and perception
Successful applicants must fulfill the requirements for appointment at the professor level in compliance
with § 102a BerlHG (Berlin Higher Education Act), including a completed academic education in computer science, qualified
achievements in research and a particular qualification for academic work normally attested by the excellent quality
of a PhD, and pedagogical didactic qualifications, to be proven by teaching experience and visualized in a teaching portfolio

Additionally the applicants need to have profound knowledge in the stated working fields, experience in international
research cooperations (proved by stays abroad or significant participation in international projects).
If the candidate was employed as a research assistant before or after the completion of a PhD, the total period of PhD
and employment combined must not have exceeded six years.
