"Cognitive Sensor Technology for Future
Mobility"
INSTITUTE OF AUTOMATION TECHNOLOGY AND SOFTWARE SYSTEMS | AS SOON AS POSSIBLE
The professorship is associated with a junior research group leadership and is intended to strengthen the focus on Software-Defined Mobility in the Innova on Campus Mobility of the Future (ICM).
In the ICM, the University of Stuttgart and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology combine their competencies in research and innovation in an cipating and interdisciplinarily exploring new forms
of mobility, flexible production technologies and future value-added networks, thereby offering ideal conditions for the junior professorship.
The research will explore issues related to new concepts, methods and technologies associated with cognitive sensors and develop those for the mobility and production of the future. This includes:
- Sensor technologies, sensor fusion and toolboxes for functional modules for automation technology
- Special methods for sensor application in systems for navigation or inside vehicle systems, such as the powertrain
- Methods of signal processing, machine learning and artificial intelligence for embedded sensor systems (embedded AI) in the application field of control engineering for machines and components
- Methods of communication between highly networked sensor systems (Internet-of-Things) in automation technology
- Electronic hardware and circuit technology for signal and information processing as well as real me processing for industrial applications
We are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate competencies and initial experience in at least one of the above-mentioned focus areas, and who represents aspects of the topic of cognitive
sensor technology for the mobility of the future in research and teaching. International applicants are explicitly welcome.
The tasks of the junior professorship include participation in teaching in German and English, e.g in the M.Sc. Autonomous Systems program of the Faculty of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering
and Information Technology.
This position also requires a willingness to cooperate intensively within the Innovation Campus and with other institutes of Faculties 5, 6 and 7 at the University of Stuttgart.
