Full Professor (W3) of Molecular Neurooncological Pathology
in the Department of Diagnostic Laboratory Medicine at the Institute for Pathology and Neuropathology, Division of Neuropathology
to start work on April 1st, 2019.
The successful candidate shall represent the field of molecular neurooncological tumor pathology in research and teaching, combined with tasks in patient care.
The research focus of the successful candidate is translational molecular pathology in brain tumors. In particular, he or she will be expected to develop new applications and further advance diagnostics and the molecular stratification of patients with regard to progression and therapy decisions. In addition to strengthening the neurooncological focus of the faculty and the Department of Neuropathology, close cooperation is expected with the Comprehensive Cancer Center Tübingen-Stuttgart (CCC-TS), the Center for Neurooncology in the German Consortium for Translational Cancer Research (DKTK), the Center for Personalized Medicine (ZPM) and the Hertie Institute for Clinical Brain Research (HIH) as well as active participation in existing and planned research alliances of the Faculty of Medicine Tübingen.
The successful candidate will actively contribute to the academic programs of the university, in particular the courses of study in human medicine and molecular medicine. Special teaching experience and interest in the development of new teaching formats are required.
The successful candidate should be internationally recognized for his or her innovative research in the field of molecular neurooncology. Proof of successful third-party funding and a convincing publication record are expected.
Formal requirements include a completed university degree in medicine, eligibility for medical licensure in the State of Baden-Württemberg, certification as a specialist in neuropathology and Habilitation or equivalent postdoctoral qualifications.
