Full Professorship (W3) of Entrepreneurial Behavior
The University of Bayreuth is a research-oriented university with internationally competitive, interdisciplinary focus areas in research and teaching. The Faculty of Law, Business & Economics at the University of Bayreuth is currently seeking to appoint a
Full Professor of
at pay grade W 3 (minimum salary per month: 7,217 euros) to commence as soon as possible. This is a permanent civil service position.
Applicants are expected to have a strong research profile in the area of entrepreneurial behavior (e.g. emotions and cognitions in entrepreneurial processes, opportunity recognition and creation, strategic entrepreneurial orientation) in the start-up process, but also in young or established organizations, using sound contemporary research methods. Applicants should have an outstanding academic record demonstrated by relevant publications in leading international peer-reviewed journals and show a committed attitude in academic teaching. Teaching at both the bachelor and master level is expected. In this context, it is desirable to hold collaborative courses in close cooperation with colleagues from the faculty and to participate in the newly developed master's program in Digitalization & Entrepreneurship. The ability to teach in English is expected. In addition, experience in interdisciplinary teaching and research as well as a strong international network are desirable. Applicants must be willing and able to teach in German immediately after employment commences.
The professorship actively contributes to the development of the Institute for Entrepreneurship & Innovation and is expected to expand the start-up ecosystem of the University of Bayreuth with new offerings beyond the boundaries of both the Faculty of Law, Business & Economics and the University. In doing so, the professorship should strengthen and complement the existing profile of the institute in research, teaching, and knowledge transfer. Experience in the acquisition of successful third-party funding projects is also expected.
In order to strengthen the Third Mission of the University of Bayreuth, applicants should have in-depth knowledge and experience in start-up promotion as well as technology and knowledge transfer. This includes, for example, working in start-ups, SME or family business-related transfer projects, mentoring and coaching start-ups, or establishing co-operations with industry partners.
A committed attitude in academic self-administration is expected. In addition, it would also be an asset if the applicants have already been involved in the scientific training and support of doctoral researchers.
