Full Professor of AI-Based Product and Process Innovation
at pay grade W 3 (minimum salary per month: 7,217 euros) to commence as soon as possible. This is a permanent civil service position.
You have a distinctive research profile at the interface of engineering and business sciences with deep methodological knowledge in the design, development, and evaluation of innovative applications of artificial intelligence (AI) for business processes (e.g., core, support and management processes) and products. In your research, you deal with predictive, prescriptive, or generative AI methods and build the bridge to related digital technologies (e.g., Internet of Things, Augmented Reality, Blockchain, or Process Mining). You have excellent scientific credentials grounded on related publications in national and international journals. Experience in third-party funding, particularly the ability to acquire and manage both publicly and industry-funded projects of applied research with partners, is a prerequisite. You are able to teach in English. In addition, we expect experience in setting up and leading a research group, an international network, as well as in interdisciplinary teaching and research.
You are expected to be willing to take a complementary orientation to the existing chairs in the intended Bayreuth Center for Artificial Intelligence (BC.AI). In addition, AI teaching in the bachelor’s and master’s programmes as well as in the additional studies of the participating faculties is to be strengthened. Active participation in the collaboration between the University of Bayreuth and the project group Business & Information Systems Management of the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Information Technology FIT as well as the project group Process Innovation of the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation IPA is desired.
