The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Tübingen invites applications for a positon at its new Institute for Health Science,
which is currently being established, as part of the Health Campus Tübingen-Esslingen, as a
Full Professor (W3)
for Special Obstetrics and Women’s Health
available immediately. The professor will be appointed for an initial five-year period and, if the funding is available, will be extended or become a non-time-limited position.
The successful candidate will represent the subject in research, teaching, and clinical practice.
The central task of this professorship is the development, implementation and future management of the Bachelor of Science (Midwifery Science) primary
qualification program in cooperation with the W3 full professor of Special Obstetrics focusing on Midwifery who is also to be appointed. This will be in
close cooperation with the research institute for Women’s Health at the Department of Women’s Health Tübingen. Involvement in higher,
interprofessional teaching modules is desired. Active participation in existing and planned joint research projects, the development of national and
international research networks in the context of the Health Campus, and participation in research training groups at the Faculty of Medicine in
Tübingen are also desirable.
Formal requirements for appointment are
- a doctorate and a Habilitation or equivalent scientific qualification,
- specialist medical training in gynecology and obstetrics with focus on special obstetrics and perinatal medicine, as well as comprehensive experience in interprofessional cooperation in health services.
Furthermore, the successful candidate will have internationally recognized research experience, specifically in the field of women’s health
and midwifery research, as well as documentation of successful funding applications. Applicants are expected to have management experience, proven
teaching aptitude, and experience in establishment and development of the relevant degree programs as well as of conducting them.
