The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Tübingen invites applications
for a position as a
Full Professorship (W3) for Clinical
The position will be established within Department I (gastroenterology,
hepatology and infectious diseases) of Internal Medicine at the University
Hospitals Tübingen. Candidates for the professorship should have a
proven track record of international excellence in the field of clinical
infectious diseases and infectious diseases research. Research activities
should encompass clinical trials of infectious diseases with a focus
on antibiotic resistance in bacterial infections as well as microbiome
research, genomic research, and preclinical models. Candidates are
expected to take a leading position in the Comprehensive Infectious
Disease Center Tübingen (CIDiC) and to represent the field of clinical
infectious diseases at the University Hospitals Tübingen as well as
heading the Infection Medicine Task Force.
Commitment to participation in the research focus Infection Medicine
and the German Center for Infectious Diseases Research including the
direction of a Clinical Research Unit as well as contribution to ongoing
research networks (including collaborative research centers) is expected.
Prerequisites for the application are a board certification in Internal
Medicine/Clinical Infectious Diseases, comprehensive experience
in clinical infectious diseases, excellent research achievements, the
German Habilitation or equivalent, and proven teaching aptitude. The
successful candidate will have an excellent track record in teaching,
particularly in the field of infectious diseases.
