ln the Department of Computer Science, which is part of the Faculty of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and Mathematics, the following position is to be filled as soon as possible:
Full Professor – W3 (f/m/d) in IT Systems
The position is open to a wide range of lT systems areas. We are particularly interested in applicants that are well established and internationally recognized in Distributed Systems or Embedded Systems (or a combination thereof). As our Department is currently pursuing Data Science and Security as its two strategic focus areas, we expect a demonstrated ability to work with researchers from at least one of these two fields, for example, by applying techniques of Data Science or Security in the applicant's research (e.g., by integrating state-of-the art security approaches in a system design) or by researching concepts, techniques or solutions that are suitable for Data Science-based or secure systems (e.g., by developing distributed systems that are conducive to data-science physical workloads).
ln addition, successful applicants should have teaching experience in the lT systems area as well as experience in acquiring and executing larger third-party-funded projects. We also expect readiness and willingness to participate in interdisciplinary research projects and in institutions like the Paderborn lnstitute for Data Science and Scientific Computing (DaSCo), or the Software lnnovation Campus Paderborn (SICP) as well as to support the preparation of large-scale research proposals (e.g., DFG Collaborative Research Centres). Given a suitable research area, membership in the Heinz-Nixdorf lnstitute (HNl) is a possibility.
